The Austrian Development Agency (ADA) maintains bilateral cooperations with partner countries and provides development support through multilateral international organisations. ADA furthermore collaborates with non-governmental organisations that implement programmes and projects in the partner countries. ADA works with the private sector and industry as another major partner for development. The water and sanitation sector forms an essential part of the Austrian Development Cooperation and includes a broad portfolio of projects and programmes.

HYDROPHIL has been providing TA support in the water and sanitation sector for ADA, the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for ADA’s cooperation partners in key-regions and priority countries including:

  • Support to ADA's sector policy/strategy development,
  • Support to ADA's sector programming,
  • Support to ADA's project development,
  • International sector coordination,
  • Technical, financial and legal consultancy services and backstopping for ADA's cooperation partners; programme and project implementation support services (support in PCM, backstopping, monitoring, ex-post evaluation, reviews);
  • Capacity building and training for ADA's cooperation partners.
