Project Start in Kosovo: Gjilan Wastewater Development Project – Financial and Operational Performance Improvement Programme (FOPIP)
Assignment location: Gjilan, Kosovo
Client: Regional Water Company of Hidromorova (RWC HM)
Origin of funding: European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Swiss State Secretariat Economic Affairs
We are pleased to share the news that HYDROPHIL has been recently awarded and started working on an EBRD funded “Gjilan Wastewater Development Project – Financial and Operational Performance Improvement Programme (FOPIP)” in Kosovo. The aim of the project is to strengthen the institutional performance and improve the capacity services of the Regional Water Company of Hidromorova.
Gjilan is one of the largest municipalities in the country. According to the Terms of References of the Project, ninety percent (90%) of the population in the service area of the RWC HM is connected to sewage, and eighty percent are connected to the water supply network. The existing water and wastewater networks have severe deficiencies that result in poor delivery of services regarding water quality, water losses, financial sustainability, maintenance of assets, and a low level of collections.
Our team consists of several experts combining international experience and know-how in the water sector in Kosovo. The experts will assess the performance level of RWC HM in regard to the institutional setup, the technical management of operations and maintenance, and the financial & commercial management. Based on this assessment, training measures (workshops, seminars, group-works, coaching) will be provided in the course of the 24 months project period.
