Project Start: Technical Assistance for the KFW financed Programme in the Water and Sanitation Sector

Since October 2020, HYDROPHIL has been part of a consortium providing “Consulting services for the review of design, construction supervision and accompanying measures” within a program to provide funds for the rehabilitation of urban water supply and sewerage systems including the municipalities of Gostivar, Kavadarci, and Gevgelija.
The program is funded with loans and grants by German bilateral cooperation, with KFW as the lending agency and with funds from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), and the Republic of North Macedonia.

HYDROPHIL’s consultancy services comprised of:

• Review of existing documents (i.e. feasibility studies, baseline reports, design criteria, conceptual engineering, design reports, Bill of Quantities, etc.)
• Review and update of the final designs and preparation of tender documents
• Assistance to the municipalities and water utilities as the Project Executing Agencies (PEAs) in tendering and contracting of construction works
• Institutional strengthening/provision of accompanying measures of the water utilities

Besides, the consortium will provide support to the municipalities with the following activities:

• Assistance to PEAs in the supervision of the construction works
• Assistance to PEAs during the Defects Notification Period (DNP)
