Montenegro: Construction of water supply and wastewater infrastructure worth approx. EUR 20 million is now starting!

One week ago, on 09 February 2023, the kick-off meeting was held in Ulcinj with representatives of the Ulcinj Municipality and Vodovod i Kanalizacija, the construction company MPP ‘Jedinstvo’ a.d Sevojno, the project executing agency VODACOM d.o.o. and HYDROPHIL.

The start of construction was initiated by a long and intensive preparatory period. HYDROPHIL (Austria), together with the engineering companies PRO-ING (Serbia, Montenegro) and DORSCH (Germany) planned all construction measures and prepared the tender as FIDIC Red Book. We also assisted the Municipality of Ulcinj in evaluating the bids and, most recently, negotiating the contract. Lastly, the massive impact of the pandemic and rising prices had to be dealt with during the awarding of the construction works.
With this kick-off event on 9.2.2023 on the premises of the city administration, the construction work could now be launched. All those involved in the project have been working towards this moment, sometimes very intensively, for almost ten years. HYDROPHIL, too, is pleased that the work will begin in a few weeks. We will supervise project implementation in the coming years.
