Our Business Development Team, Mr Julien Blondel and Ms Lara Salloum, recently returned from a trip to Vietnam as part of the Green-Tech and Infrastructure Mission to Vietnam organised by Advantage Austria (WKÖ), where they were part of a business delegation – one of the first foreign delegations after Vietnam welcomed visitors following a long lockdown period.

During their trip, they participated in several events:

  • Austria Showcase: Green Tech Solutions (Seminar) with B2B matching amongst a professional audience consisting of institutional stakeholders, business partners and companies.
  • Meeting with The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and relevant Departments for Construction, Environment etc., the Long An Provincial People’s Committee & Ben Tre Provincial People’s Committee and the Municipal Water Supply Company in Ho Chi Minh City (Sawaco).

Our Team also attended productive meetings with counterparts in the water sector in Hanoi, such as Hanoi Water Limited Company (HAWACO), the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association, and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the French Development Agency (AFD).

In the discussions with our counterparts as well as with the representatives of the Austrian companies accompanying us on this trip, we learnt about challenges in the water supply and wastewater sector, as well as in water resources management in the various Vietnamese provinces,” says Lara Salloum

“Vietnam is a fast-developing country, and we noticed that all political, institutional, and private actors are interested in the sustainable development of the country, where the water sector plays a pivotal role due to the abundant but critical water resources and the presence of the Mekong River. We see potential where HYDROPHIL can provide its services and hope to contribute to this development with our expertise and experience “, says Julien Blondel.
