HYDROPHIL has led the consortium InWaters, which mainly supported the ADA partners in South-Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Eastern Africa with consulting and engineering services.
These services took place in Albania, Moldova, Mozambique, Palestine, Serbia, and Uganda. In most cases, public bodies such as authorities, state organisations, ministries, local authorities, etc., were advised. Approximately 50 specialists provided support to ADA and its partners for numerous tasks, projects, and, in some cases, particular questions in the water sector.
Within this project’s framework, HYDROPHIL was also able to play a significant role in shaping the new Austrian guidelines for the water sector and, therefore, worked closely with the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs.
It is particularly worth mentioning that we could help implement a total investment volume of approximately 9 MEUR, including 6 MEUR investments in Serbia and Moldova. In Serbia, this involved improving flood protection in the cities of Svilajnac, Valjevo, and Paracin and flood protection systems located in the municipalities of Surcin and Obrenovac. In Moldova, the municipal water supply and sewage disposal systems in Cantemir and Nisporeni were renewed and expanded.
Thus, the InWaters partnership has fulfilled its purpose and could be dissolved in 2021.
