HYDROPHIL is close to wrapping up an EBRD financed “ONEE Water Project – Lender’s monitor” in Morocco – where the beneficiary is the state-owned national utility company for water and electricity ONEE – with the aim of increasing access to drinking water in rural areas. This project focuses on improving the drinking water supply to 3 medium-sized cities and 260 rural communities in the three regions of Azilal, Ben Guerir, and Ouarzazate.
Throughout the Project, HYDROPHIL has been assisting the EBRD in monitoring the implementation of the contracts related to different components of the project and ensuring that investments are implemented within time and budget and in accordance with the Project legal agreements.
Within the last year, the world has experienced quite a significant bump in the road – a global pandemic, Covid-19. With this pandemic, extra precautions must be taken to keep ourselves and the people around us healthy and safe. Thus, to continue working on this project safely, we conducted a Travel Risk Assessment (TRA) and introduced safety measures in December 2020, which allow our local experts to carry on working with the full support of our international expert team. HYDROPHIL is looking forward to continuing working on this project, which is projected to be finalised in September 2021. The international experts are expected to travel to Morocco this summer for the final field mission.
