Building Resilience in Uganda´s Watersheds: Awoja Catchment, Bukedea District

The key objective of the assignment is to assist the Ministry of Water and Environment (MoWE) as the relevant implementing agency, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Operational GEF Focal Point) and the AfDB, in the consultative preparation of the project and the formulation of a set of documents, namely: (i) a project design report, (ii) a GEF-CEO Endorsement Request document (GEF-7), (iii) an AfDB Project Preparation Report and (iv) in AfDB Project Appraisal Report through:

  • Project Scope Confirmation
  • Stakeholder and Gender Analysis
  • Definition of scope for mainstreaming Climate Change/Watershed Management into Uganda’s National Water and Sanitation Masterplan
  • Preliminary Feasibility for Watershed Management in targeted areas
  • Scoping for Water Resources Monitoring and Information systems
  • Scoping for creation of a knowledge base and M & E system
  • Environment and Social Safeguards Analysis
  • Project Cost Effectiveness
  • Project Implementation Framework
