| Sonja HOFBAUER MSc PhD
Sonja Hofbauer is a civil engineer and trainer for adult education who has previously worked as researcher at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, in the fields of sustainable river basin and flood disaster management. Besides hydraulic modelling she gained experience with public participation processes in the context of the European Water Framework Directive. Before she joined hydrophil she worked in Cameroon in a long term programme for rural drinking water supply in close cooperation with local partner organisations. Working in the project coordination she gained further experience in process documentation, data (e.g. Geographic Information Systems applications) and knowledge management as well as awareness raising for the sake of sustainable operation and maintenance of infrastructure. Sonja Hofbauer is now working for hydrophil in integrated water resources management projects and as liaison person for individual experts.
Language skills: mother tongue - German, fluent in English, proficient in French, working knowledge in Portuguese, basic Dutch and Czech.
