Project Evaluation: Development of Sustainable Institutional and Technical Capacity
in Agricultural Land and Water Resources Management in Palestine
The
Austrian North-South Institute for Development Cooperation worked with the Palestine
Water Authority and the Palestine Ministry for Agriculture to develop a GIS-based
decision support system for the efficient management of land and water resources
in the West Bank. During the project period the al-Aqsa Intifada erupted, which
strongly affected the implementation process. In this context, hydrophil
assisted the North-South Institute for Development Cooperation to review the situation
and to help design future interventions for Austrian support in Palestine. The
evaluation was based on extensive consultations and interviews with stakeholders
in the West Bank with the aim to identify key factors of importance for the project
and recommendations for future activities. |
