Water sector review
The study focused on an
assessment of the relevance, quality of implementation and sustainability of five
water sector projects with the aim to develop a consistent sector intervention
that will form part of a larger sector programme for East Africa (due 2005). These
projects include different types of interventions in the water supply, sanitation
and irrigation sub-sectors in the provinces of Cibitoke and Bururi, as well as
water resources management at the national level. The proposed approach focuses
on building sustainable structures and capacities at all levels and on harmonizing
interventions at the national and regional level. |
