Identification and preparation of DANIDA, SIDA and ADA joint water and sanitation sector programme support (JWSSPS) for 2008-2012
The objective of this assignment was to carry out and prepare
- an assessment of WSS sector developments and the WSS sector performance;
- scenarios and proposals for interventions under the JWSSPS - 2008-2012.
This included a technical and financial review of DANIDA, SIDA, DFID and ADA programmes, especially:
- Five-year capacity building programme for development of District water Office capacities;
- Donor support for water sector decentralization programme: Establishment of eight regional "Technical Support Units"
- Analysis of the actual status of the water sector in Uganda and evaluation of the influence of the five-year programme support by the donors mentioned above;
- Preparation of a possible future five-year donor support programme with GTZ replacing DFID and with a new component that specially focuses on the development of capacities for national and sub-national as well as catchment scale water resource management.
