Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Programme
hydrophil
supports the Austrian Development Cooperation at the national level in Uganda
in the further development and implementation of its country water sector policy.
This involves the formulation of country sector programmes and provision of technical
backstopping to support water supply and sanitation project implementation teams.
hydrophil has been working in close partnership with Ugandan counterparts
to develop some highly innovative programmes and projects, which have been influential
in the Ugandan water and sanitation sector. The "South Western Towns Water and
Sanitation", "Kitgum Water Supply" and "Kisoro Water Supply" as well as "Kisoro
Water Supply Extension" projects are amongst those projects that are recognised
as successful interventions by line agencies, donor agencies as well as the communities
themselves. Since 12 years, these projects have been introducing innovative solutions
in Uganda like standardisation of solar power pumping station for water supply
schemes, ecological sanitation at a large scale and new implementation approaches
and O & M models for water supply schemes. |
