Communication and Information System of the European Union Water Initiative (EUWI-CIS) is an internet-based tool for enhancing communication and sharing of information between all EUWI participants. It includes a public portal and a restricted EUWI member-area. EUWI-CIS is based on the concept of virtual communities, providing members with a networking mechanism to help overcome the constraints relating to the inherent restrictions of a geographically diverse initiative involving many independent members' actions.

hydrophil designed and implemented EUWI-CIS in 2004 which has since then been used by the EUWI community. In 2005 hydrophil was contracted to further upgrade and consolidate the operational use of the CIS. EUWI-CIS continues to be a very useful and powerful tool for the EUWI community and its various sub-groups. See www.euwi.net
